Google Adwords has just released an amazing new family of display ads that looks like a standard Display Ad until you hover over the image and see a lightbox effect.
After a two-second hover, the image will expand to a super sized canvas.
Google tests have found that the new lightbox eliminates nearly 100% of accidental clicks on ads and increases user engagement by at least 6 x compared to standard click-to-expand ads.
This means that these ads are more compelling, are likely to gain more quality clicks and get more engaged viewers.
